POE Review: Seattle
Event Description
Entry Date : 2014-08-13
Embassy Review : Hello guys this is review about port of entry to the U.S

My port of entry was Seattle, Washington. Its a very busy airport. I landed at 12noon instead of 11:30am since my flight from Amsterdam to Seattle was a bit delayed. After I landed there were separate lines for U.S & Canadian passports holders and other passport holders. it was too crowdy I was in rush because I had to catch my next flight which was in 1.30hrs originally 2hrs but because of 30min flight delay my time was even shorter.

I stood up in line for immigration and when i was called for the entry stamp i was asked to show him the brown sealed packet i handed him over the packet along with my passport he did some work in his computer and then guided me towards the another desk that they will process my packet i aked the officer that will i be able to catch my flight to LAX which is in next 1hr so he said it wont be possible but don't worry your airline will schedule you on the next available flight. Moreover, I went to that desk and gave my passport and sealed packet and waited for about 45min there since according to their policy they have to finish up the wheelchair people first and then rest of them.

when i my turn came the lady checked all the documents in the Yellow packet and stamped my passport and said with a smiling face that i have to marry my fiancée within next 90 days and file AOS otherwise i will have to exit U.S in order to be in good record. While waiting for this process i was hearing announcement that all passengers have to collect that checked in baggage and go thourgh necessary customs check otherwise the baggage will not be delivered to the final destination so after this i collected my baggage went through another custom check which was too much in detail and asking a lot of question about our relation that how we met, where we met, where have i been working, where have i been living, what is my intention for next coming months etc etc the officer was very polite and professional... My tip is to always bear a smile on your face while answering questions they are not gonna kick you out if you are honest and true with your answers

so finally after this i went to the airline desk and they rescheduled me for the next available flight to Los Angeles and checked in my baggage again and reached LAX.

At the baggage collection hall in LAX my sweetheart was waiting for me & we were so happy to meet eachother after 8months (the longest since our relation). collected my baggage smoothly

I will advice everyone landing on Seattle to keep almost a min of 3.5hr layover between your connecting flight to final destination since its sometimes a busy airport and immigration may take more time as it did in my case because of the wheelchair people

We are happy that we are together now and will travel together where we want to

Next step getting married and filing Adjustment of Status
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
