Consulate Review: Sweden

Event Description

Embassy Review : I got there a little late - train delays and bus delays threw me for a loop - but everything went fine. I could head straight into the security office, which is like airport security. They kept my cellphone as expected.

I got into the main area and was sent to window G by the receptionist. It took a while before someone showed up. A Swedish woman took all of my paperwork and asked me some quick questions about my fiance - what does he do for a living, when did you meet. After this, I sat down for about 10 minutes and then my name was called. I went up to another window and had to take an oath about the truthiness of all my statements. The lady was very nice but kept everything brief and to the point. She asked me how we met, how we kept in touch, when we last saw each other and how he proposed. Then she let me know that everything was in order and that I could expect the visa in the next two weeks. Exactly a week later I could pick it up at my nearest post office!

Everyone was very nice and professional. The embassy lady was especially happy that I'd brought newer photos of the two of us from a trip we'd taken together after the K-1 application was filed.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
