Embassy Review : |
Had my interview today (December 8th 2014 @ 1PM)
Arrive around 12:20pm with my husband (The USC) was told to leave and come back at 12:50pm, we went across to the cafe called (Embassy Grill) had a coffee and then went back to the Embassy.
We were asked who was being interviewed, what type of Visa and then proceeded trough the airport style security. I had a minimal amount of things in my purse which included earphones, they took my keys, phone, earphones and lip balm and put them in a small locker and gave me the key. They allowed me to keep my purse with me and my folder of documents.
Was sent up a ramp to the building itself and was greeted by a very nice security officer, he asked again what visa type, immigrant or non-immigrant, we went sent to the immigrant waiting side. There were only 2 other people waiting so it went fairly quick. Got called up to the first window after waiting 10 minutes or so, asked for my medical results, passport and passport pics. Asked me if I had registered with the courier service and handed me back my X-ray results and told me to keep them on hand at all times through the airport when going through my POE. Guy we dealt with was very nice and happy. Was sent to sit down again and waited another 20-30 mins. Got called again to another window to a different guy who was also lovely to deal with. He looked through my documents and had all the original stuff I had sent to USCIS/NVC and made casual conversation to my husband about food being better in America and spoke about how he missed real deep dish Chicago pizza!lol
He then proceeded to ask:
*Why we want to move to the USA
*What my husband plans to do for work in America
*What I plan to work as
*What our current jobs are
*Who our joint sponsor was
It was all done in a very casual manner and the guy was a pleasure to deal with.
We were given back the original photographs I sent in with our I-130 which was a real surprise!
We were there for about an hour in total. Very professional place and wonderful staff!

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
