Embassy Review : |
My wife was asked "what is your husband's full name" by first the Filipino consulate officer, and then again by the American. That was her only question. She showed them a few photos and that was it.
She was told that she needed to submit a CENOMAR so she went to NSO after interview and paid for it and they said the US Embassy will receive it 3 days later. US Embassy told her that processing may take 3-4 weeks.
They never looked at nor asked about the other documents we had (1 original and 2 copies of ALL docs we submitted to USCIS and NVC, western union receipts, pay stubs from last 8 months, tax transcrips, returns and W2s and 1098s from 2010-2012, plus 2013 W2s, employment letter, all our Skype conversations since September 2013 (that was as far back as it went), FB conversations, all FB posts on each others walls since we met in July of 2011, all documents NVC say we need for interview, etc.
The document list we were given, both by embassy and by Rapid Visa (our visa service, that I don't recommend, have had trouble with, and from which I will request a refund) included NSO marriage certificate, but did not mention CENOMAR, which my wife had gotten in the past, but surrendered when she received her official marriage certificate. I felt as though we were blindsided.
Oh well, hopefully they don't take the full 30 days they told us to wait... |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
