Consulate Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 21, 2014
Embassy Review : We got approve on March 21st 2014. I have been prepping my fiancee with lots of question this week so that she knows how to answer them properly. I wasn't afraid of our paper work because i did it all and it is really completed.

My fiancee arrive at the consulate about 10:30am and there was no lines. The lady at the front ask for the package #3 and also the DS-160. I think I goof the DS-160 form because her 1st name didn't show up. It came out FNU and they almost didn't let her in. Other people had the same issue.

When she got in, she did her BIO/Finger and then when in to submit all the require documents. The lady that was standing there was very rude to my fiancee. Giving her rude comments on why all of her paper work was inside a neatly place binder but my fiancee just shrugged it off.

There are many people inside that will direct her to the correct place to do certain things in the process which was extremely helpful.

When she got called up for the interview she got this guy. My fiance looked at the guy and immediately recognize him from a youtube video that i sent to her.

Speed the video to 5 minutes:

he spoke vietnamese very well so it was helpful. Below are the questions

Here is all the questions that they ask my fiancee.

Can I see your photos?
Where does your finance work?
What does he do for a living?
When did you finance go the United States?
What language do you speak with your fiancé?
Have you or your fiancé been married before?
Do you or your finance have kids?
Who introduce you guys to each other?
When did you meet your fiancé?
How many times did you fiancé visit you?
What was the last time your fiancé visit you?
Why didn't you guys have a wedding in Vietnam?
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
