Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 2, 2014
Embassy Review : Submitting the review on behalf of my husband..

My interview was at 7am.I got to the shuttle place at 6:15am..got in the shuttle at around 6:30..reached embassy at 6:40..v were told to sit in shuttle till embassy opened..then security guards made separate lines of immigrant n non-immigrant visas..once inside i was called for finger prints..but their system was down n he couldnt scan the photos..that took alot of of time..then after that i was called to window 2..the pakistani guy there took my medical reports n some other things and gave me a paper with courrier addresses on it n a paper saying i have to pay 165 dollars before entering united states n asked if i would take the interview in english or urdu..then soon after that i was called to window 8..the CO was extremely friendly..wen he saw my home address in islamabad..he became all excited cuz he once lived in that same street..then he talked about the local market there n talked about imran khan..he said he couldnt get coffee from anywhere cuz everything was closed..after the chit chat he asked me the following questions

Who is calling u to usa?
When did u get married?
Arranged or love?
For how long u guys lived together after getting married?
When did she leave for usa?
When did she come back?
Show me birth certificate of ur child..
Who does she live with in usa?
Who is the joint sponsor?
Saw our wedding photos n phots of us with our son

A couple more questions that i forgot but he kept making jokes
in between n asking questions aswell..

then he said everything looks perfect..i wouldve issued ur visa right now but our system is down but ull get it in maximum 10 days..he handed me a paper which had my rights written on it once i enter united states..comfirmed my phone number n said have a safe journey home ( due to all the roads being blocked in islamabad)

Over all great experiance...good luck to everyone..
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
