Comments : Biometrics App. was originally scheduled for 4/28/2014, but had to reschedule due to our honeymoon plans.

July 10th, 2014: Received a letter from USCIS saying that due to a high work load they anticipate a 6 month delay...

RFE for current vaccination record, because my case had been collecting dust at USCIS for so long, that the original record had expired...
RFE 2: USCIS once again screwed up and only requested an updated vaccination record, when they actually wanted the whole medical -.-

Consulate Review: Frankfurt, Germany
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 18, 2014
Embassy Review : I was super nervous - for absolutely no reason!
The interview was a breeze! I was in and out in right at an hour, and everybody at the consulate was very nice and friendly!

I had my appointment at 9:15 am and arrived at the gate right at 9 am. There was quite a long line for the non-immigrant visas, but I could skip right by it and go straight to the security check point.

In the consulate we (my fiancé and I) started the process at window 22. My passport and fingerprints were taken, then I was told to sit down and wait for my number to be called.

We sat down for maybe 5-7 minutes when I was called up to the next window (in my case window 20). There, another officer went over my submitted documents and gave me a flyer about domestic violence. (I handed that to my fiancé and told him he might need it down the road :P haha)

We then had to wait for maybe 10 minutes when my name was called again (window 17), this time for the actual interview. The interview was sooo super quick! I didn't even last full 5 minutes.
The only questions asked:

-How and when did you meet?
-What does your fiancé do for a living?
-Are you going to live in South Carolina?
-When do you intend to travel to the US? (ASAP!!)

That was it!! Maybe he didn't asked anymore questions because my fiancé was right there by my side and that was proof enough for him?

I brought so much evidence with me to the consulate (photos, Skype call logs, phone records, boarding passes, cards and letters, ...), and they did NOT want to see a single thing.
Even though I could have just brought my passport and nothing else, I am still glad I had all those things with me. It just made me feel very prepared and gave me a little boost of self-confidence.

The officer told us that we were approved and that we should get the visa in the mail in about 7 days, that was already it! It all went so super quick, I still can't quite believe it. haha

(I also asked about picking up my visa package the next day, but unfortunately that is not/no longer possible.)
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Detroit
Event Description
Entry Date : 2014-02-26
Embassy Review : The whole process took maybe 15 minutes, and that is including the waiting time in line! (Obviously the waiting time will depend on the time a day and the number of people on the flight....)

Once it was my turn I handed the officer my visa packet and my passport. She opened the packet, looked at it for a second and then started typing some stuff in the computer. Since our I-129f is quite "old" (it was submitted a year ago and then USCIS lost it after approval...) she had some trouble finding it in the system. The officer called a supervisor and they got it straightened out. The only question that was ask, was when we where planing on getting married and she then reminded us of the 90 day time limit. I got a stamp in my passport and that was already it! No questioning or extra waiting time.

If the officer wouldn't have had trouble finding our case in the system, I would have probably been through in 2 min, this way it took maybe 5 minutes.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
