So after a year of waiting I sent in two service requests. The second service request said that they had transferred the case to Guam. Yes - fricking Guam!!!
They said they needed me to get a small segment of my vaccinations properly signed. I tried many civil surgeons and they all refused, as the form said that they had to complete the whole process. The form did allude to this too, but I know you don't have to. The instruction booklet backs this up (sort of - the whole thing is ambiguously written). I wrote back and said that no-one would sign this small part, and that I couldn't work out why it needed doing as my paperwork was in order. I packaged it off with photocopies of everything and sent it off to Guam (takes a week to get there). Of course the day after I sent the forms, I get an email telling me they are processing my green card. I guess they found the paperwork they needed, and i never had to send anything anyway. $10 i'll never see again - but at least the process is over for me. For 2 years. |

Embassy Review : |
It was really easy. I flew midweek, so customs was quite quiet. I got to the desk quickly and the guy asked me a couple of simple questions and asked for my packet. He stamped a couple of things then asked me to follow him to the holding area, where he asked me to sit and wait for my name to be called.
I was expecting to go through an interview, so I sat patiently and nervously in a busy room filled with a majority Asian population.
There is only one holding room so, everyone held for everything waits in there.
About 30 mins later, my name is called - so I went up to the window. The guy gave me my passport and customs card and told me to have a nice day. That was it!
I walked through the rest, like any normal holiday and into my fiancées arms. New Chapter begins! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
