Comments : Would have got a case complete on August 12th, but NVC overlooked our police certificate that we had sent in with our DS-230 packet on July 19th and got check listed for that. Requested a supervisor review on August 13th and got case completed on September 11th when the NVC found that we did indeed send them a police certificate.

It wasn't until October 3rd that we got our interview date which was to be November 25th. Because of the NVC mistakenly giving us a checklist and delaying our case being completed by a month we asked for an expedite on those grounds from the embassy. Fortunately they granted it to us. They sent us an email saying they would contact us to schedule an interview as soon as they got our papers. Our application arrived at the Tokyo embassy on 10/11. We heard nothing from them until I called on 10/18 and explained our situation. They promptly scheduled my wife for her interview first thing in the morning on the 21st.

Everything was really smooth from there. The interview was easy and we got her passport with her visa in it back in the mail the next day.
