Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 19, 2013
Embassy Review : Interview was scheduled for 9:45 AM, and interview started around 10:20. Same sort of short questions already shown in this review section of this forum, nothing really signficant. Nice people and non-abrasive and efficent.
The hospital forgot to place an expiration date on the medical result, so you may want to remind the doc office to do so. We were told we were approved at the interview, but they needed the doctor to send a new report. We sent that with the passport on Nov 8 and now waiting for the visa.

I think we did not get a lot of questons because we had ample proof of relationship. I had several trips to China, with photos, phone logs, skpe messages, airline receipts, etc.

We hired a lawyer for 2K USD (handles from petition to green card), but in hine sight, I don't think it was worth it for us. The laywer was VERY slow to respond to questions and simply confirmed what I already gathered/assumed. So it mounted to a $2K piece of mind.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
