Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 28, 2014
Embassy Review : First of all I would like to thank Islamabad Embassy staff for working hard day and night to bring all the couples together,

Well our experience with Islamabad Embassy was excellent thou our interview was on 19th August the date when there was Protest on the main streets of Islamabad. It took us 2 hours to reach to the shuttle point, when we reach at shuttle point it was 8:45 am and we waited for the shuttle to take us to the embassy which took 15 min to reach there. so all over we reach to embassy at 9 am, once we reached there the security guards greeted both of us took the interview letter from my wife and ask us to sit inside. we went inside the embassy and in 5 min my wife got finger prints (the officer who was taking finger print) looked at me and said "Hello Mr TA, Good luck with your wife's visa)

then we were advised to sit in waitiing room and wait for our call(token number) the token number came a nice gentle man (called my wife and took all the documents) and I accompany my wife on window). then we were again adviced to sit for the final round interview. we were called after 15 min for the final around interviews where my wife went first to the window and then the lady officer who was taking the interview she asked my wife where is "TA" call him, she called me and then we both were on window she she gave my wife oath to read in Urdu and then lady officer asked me when did I came to Pakistan I gave her the date , she smiled and said "Golden words" Congratulation your visa is approved and your visa/passport will arrive with in 2 weeks, I was so excited I greeted the lady and she greeted back to US and then we came out jumping!!!! also we greeted all the guards for doing their jobs and every one and then we came back to Hotel(which was still in ISL if there was no protest it takes 15 min from that hotel)

So overall a very good experience.

I would advice for CR1 Visa that please accompany your spouse when they have interview, It will make your spouse feel secured and you were their for them when they needed you the most, also US-Embassy appreciate that as well. (Yes keep in mind accompany them if you have (Green card or US Passport)

The interview questions are in my timeline if you need !

Thanks,
TA & NA

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
