Local US CIS Office Review: San Jose CA

Event Description

Embassy Review : We had an interview yesterday at Sanjose local office and got approved. This Forum has been so helpful throughout our Green card journey that we wanted to post our experience.

Our appointment was at 12:50 and we were called at around 1:00pm. The officer (Caucasian male) was pleasant and directed us to his office which was way down the corridor. He swore us in and asked for 2 forms of identification. After that he started checking of things in the application and was doing lot of paperwork. He asked us if we were lived together and if I was out of status anytime. he check and verified. Those were the only 2 questions he asked (apart from the general questions from I-485 application like are you involved in any crime etc ..). I believe he went through our file before and made up his mind to approve the application. We have been married for more than two and half years. We were sitting there looking at him while he was doing all the paperwork. He stepped out of the office twice to get something and finally said he has no problems approving our application. He never asked for any additional proof like Bank Accounts, photos. He took back the EAD card ( he even made us a copy when we said we did not have a copy and that I may need it this week as he is applying for jobs). He changed the status to "card production ordered" in front of us and then walked us out to the front lobby by 1:40pm.

Overall :
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
