Embassy Review : |
My fiancee's account was relatively positive. She arrived at 8:30 am and there was already a line of about 6 or 7 people even though the embassy opened at 9 am. When they let people in, there were storage areas for phones, etc. although they suggest you don't bring additional things.
She provided her passport, required documents, and additional documents to different windows and then waited approximately 3 hours for her interview. She said that she was asked 3 questions -- how/when we met, the last time I (the petitioner) was in the US, and about the co-sponsor (specifically, where we will be living). Overall quite painless. The woman who interviewed my fiancee was "friendly and helpful but didn't say too much".
Unfortunately, she received a 221g form because we were unaware of a requirement. Apparently a certificate proving there are no impediments to marriage is required but it wasn't clearly spelled out on any of the required document information sheets. You can get the certificates at any Public Service Hall in Georgia but it takes about a week. We got that form, sent it into the embassy, and received our visa about two weeks after sending the form in. |

Embassy Review : |
My fiancee went through a very brief POE screening. After stamping her passport and providing fingerprints, she was escorted to the secondary screening area. Only one person was ahead of her. They took her envelope, did not ask her any questions, returned her passport, and was out in 10 minutes. Simple and easy. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
