Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 29, 2024
Embassy Review : My appt was at 10.30, so I arrived at 10.15 ( there is a cafe next door where I waited, as I was too early).

Downstairs there are guards and you have to turn off your phone and they mark your name off.

Once inside, the lady at counter will take your original docs- passport, sealed medical envelope, birth cert and police check. Also updated intent letter. She will put them in a folder for you to take upstairs.

She also gave me a copy of the IMBRA pamphlet to read.

Then there is another secuirty and xray to go through just like the airport.

Once clear, you go up the lifts to level 5,and go to the right side (visas). At the first counter, you give your folder of docs, and do your fingerprints. You are given a ticket number, so then wait for the next window.

Once called- this is the actual consular. They look at your docs and I presume the DS160.

Qs asked:
- Whats fiance name and address
- What do we both do for work
- How did we meet

Then we say yes to an oath, and take some more fingerprints.

That's it! Said I'm approved, only took like 20 mins?

Good luck everyone! Its a very simple process.

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
