Consulate Review: Bogota, Colombia
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 13, 2013
Embassy Review : We had a slight glitch in scheduling the visa appointment as both my wife and son had separate case numbers, therefore supposedly requiring separate appointments, but after several emails to the embassy, both were scheduled for the same time and date. The embassy was more than understanding in our situation and concern.

As our case was expedited, we had to hand carry all documents including the I-864 and all supporting documents. We thought that we would be there for quiet a while due to the amount of paperwork that had to be reviewed, but we couldn't have been more wrong. From our time of entry into the embassy to the time of approval was 50 minutes.

I can only emphasize to go prepared with all of your documents in order.

The embassy staff are super helpful, understanding, and polite. If you have a question, just ask and they are more than happy to clarify anything.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
