My experience at the consulate was ok!! Nothing to do with the interview part but I was little frustrated at the way things have been handled by the VFS till you get a ticket for an interview.
Its a huge chaos from the very beginning. Even though I was the 3rd person to be there at the consulate ( 5:45 AM ) for a 7:30 interview . I was the last person to come out.
I found the VFS staff being too amused by the the radio they carry rather than the service they provide.
Here are few things I thing friends here should take a note :
* There is a lounge facility available at 5 mins away from the consulate that, I think is very helpful especially if you want to tuck away those extra bags you have/mobile phones.
Its called the " The Stars & Stripes Lounge " .
* They charge Rs. 400 for Lounge + Snacks + locker facility + internet ( only restricted for emails & corrections to your application )
* Rs 200 for locker facility
Once you enter please make sure you get to the right line for your ticket . Mine being an immigrant visa, some of the immigrant visa applicants where ushered into a different line, but one of my VFS friend asked me to stay put in the current line which gave me a ticket that held me up for 4 hrs.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
