Consulate Review: United Arab Emirates
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 3, 2015
Embassy Review : Interview date : Jan 29, 2015 at 8:30 AM
Reached the Embassy at 6:15AM, I'm the first person who came.
7:30 AM they started to let us in on the first building.
8:00AM we are in the 2nd building and was given a que number (lucky number is #003)

First consul questions (Iranian Lady) :
- My Family Name
- Fathers Full Name
- She then ask why my father is not in my Birth Certificate (Told her I'm an illegitimate child)
- Mothers Full Name
- Asked for Medical results
- Asked for New Police Certificate (I didn’t have. Glad I didn't had problem with it)
- How long I've been married

Then to another window for fingerprints. Then to a small room for the Interview and took an Oath.

Interview questions (American Guy)
- Full Name
- Name of husband
- Have you been to the US
- How many times
- Was it before or after the wedding
- How long was the trip
- Which date
- How did you met your husband
- Which Website
- Tell me about the website
- When did you first met in person
- Which place
- From which state is your husband
- What is your husband's occupation
- He then asked me to tell him about my husband's job
- How long have you been in UAE
- What is your job
- What is the name of the company
- Where is your office located
- What does your company do
- Have you met your husband's family
- Have you met your husband again after the first meeting?
- Where did you get married
- Which date
- Was he married before
- What about you?
- Does he have children?
- What about you?
- Can I see pictures of you together

He then checked on my papers and said " everything is good and Im approving your visa". Handed me the pink slip to come back on Feb 3rd to get my passport with the Visa.

Came out of the Embassy at exactly 10:00AM

All in all its pretty smooth experience. The American consul asked many questions but it was just like a normal conversation.

Went back today Feb 3, 2015 and I got yay.. visa on hand...

Thanks VJ Family and goodluck to those who are still waiting.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
