Local US CIS Office Review: Los Angeles CA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : March 11, 2014
Embassy Review : (Late posting, but this is for our interview back in November 2013)

Me and my wife had our interview at the L.A. office. We prepared a crate of stuff to bring (yes, a rolling crate with wheels). Our interview was scheduled for 8:05. We got there at 7:00, got through security fine and made our way up to the 8th floor. We waited....and waited.....and waited. Finally at about 9:45 we were called. My wife had gone to use the restroom, so the IO said she would come back in a few minutes to get us. A few minutes pass and she comes back and gets us. We head into her small office, rolling crate in tow. She swears us in and we sit down. She asked for our ID's, my wife's passport (not mine) and my birth certificate. She went over and verified our information, while making pleasant small talk with us. She asked about our distance, but we explained everything and the plan we have in place to move, which she seemed fine with.

She then realized they didn't have a G-325 for me. So she gives us a blank one to fill out and sends us outside to fill it out while she says she will finish up our paperwork. On the way out, I was trying to roll the cart out when she made mention of us bringing everything and then mentioning "I don't need it". So we go back to the waiting area and I fill out the form. A few minutes pass and she comes to get us, with a paper in her hand. We get up ready to go back in. She says "I won't drag you guys back in here". She looked over the G-325 quickly and right there in the waiting area hands my wife her GC approval!

We. Were. Shocked.

We had a whole crate of stuff and they didn't ask for any joint documents, any pictures or any proof -- of anything, even though we had everything.

We went to get lunch afterwards happy and absolutely shocked at how easy the whole thing was and could not be happier!!!!
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
