Local US CIS Office Review: Detroit MI
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : May 14, 2014
Embassy Review : We arrived at 7.15am for a 7.30am appointment. I was surprised to be the first to arrive.

We were therefore seen first. Called to a window to show my EAD card, which I suppose they did not have a number for.

Shortly before 8am we were called in by an older gentleman who was polite without being overly friendly.

He asked us a couple of challenging questions about income and names on leases/bills, expressing his concern, but our answers were legit and understandable. A weird question was "tell me about your husband/wife", which was a little open-ended and felt hard to answer.

After about 15mins he suggested as he half-turned away that we he could probably approve it, which was about as anticlimactic as you can get given the full year and thousands of Dollars this process has taken, but all's well that ends well. We were out by 8.10am and while we should be excited, relief is certainly the dominant emotion.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
