Comments : *according to what me and other people I know experienced, the passport might take from 5 to 20 days to be delivered from Rio's consulate.
*Do not hesitate in involving your local representative if needed, if it wasn't for the help of ours, my petition would have taken longer to be approved and the visa issued and sent.

Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 7, 2013
Embassy Review : It took almost 2 months since the day Rio's consulate recieved my petition from NVC and the actual interview date.
The interview part went fine, just a few questions, very nice people. I was afraid that they requested the presence of my fiance on a second interview as it accured with some people the interviewed in August/2013, but it wasn't the case.
The questions were:
- How we've met
- How our relashionship developed
- What's my fiance profession
- How many times have I been to the US
- if he spoke portuguese
Got the approval, and proceeded to wait for the visa to be issued. I knew most people who didi the interview on the same day as me from a Facebook group. I saw that 6 days after the interview everyone else had their visa issued but me (including someone who had issues with their passport and went back there two days after the interview to deliver it to them), they would update my status everyday but the status itself wouldn't change, it still said "ready", so we decided to have our local representative envolved (again) and send them an email asking what was going on. As they completely ignored. So she contacted the dpt of state and they contacted Rio's consuate directly, they said they were having "techinical problems", but funny how they issued the visa within 24hrs of Dpt of state's contact.
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
