Embassy Review : |
We arrived just a few mins before our interview time, were checked at the gate, then put out interview letter in the Green Card interviews bin, a few mins later an older gentleman came out looked through the letter then called her name, he took us in his office, told us to swear to tell the truth and all that. Then he took her passport and EAD. He said he has studied our file and our I-130 has been approved a long time ago and that all our docs in our file are in order for a successful AOS processing. He asked her simple questions like her date of birth, her mother's name and went over the last page of questions on I-485 questions. Then he asked me what docs I had to prove we are living together, I gave him our bank satement and a few letters from various Christian organizations we are part of and he said that was enough. He then said congrats you are now a permanent resident in US, he said I am going to keep your EAD as you don't need that anymore, he took her passport stamped cancelled on her K3 visa and put a stamp for I-551 conditional greencard evidence. He explained us that since we not married for 2 years, she is only approved for conditional GC. I laughingly said oh our 2nd anniversary is 2 months away , he said I know it stinks but things happen. He then asked her to sign a letter that he told her to apply for lifting condition and told us to wait for one week after our 90 days before 2 years of conditional residence expires and apply. He then said you will recieve your card in 2 weeks and told us to go have lunch in Canada if we want. All in all it was a wonderful experience, we were out in about 15 mins....Praise the Lord for all this blessing in our life!!!! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
