Event Description
Review Date : November 7, 2013
Embassy Review : My mom’s interview was scheduled at 7:45am but she didn’t get call in until 9:30am for interview.

The lady VO was not friendly at all. My mother laid out all the pictures and the documents on the table. She told her to set aside and didn’t want to see any of that. Then the VO started off by asking a lot of questions about my father but not about me (I am the petitioner). My father and mom divorced long ago.

Here are some questions that my mother told me
1. Have you ever visited US?
2. Why you have not visited US?
3. When did your ex-husband go to US?
4. Why you didn’t go with him? (she asked 3 times of this question)
5. What is your daughter name?
6. Is she married?
7. When did she go to USA?
8. Why I don’t’ see your son in-law affidavit of support? (My income is above the poverty guidelines. Even my lawyer said I didn't need my husband's)
9. Does he (your son in-law) approve you to come to the USA?
10. Do you have a new passport photo? The picture we have is not you

At end of interview, the lady VO said: “you did not pass today.” Then she gave her the “final process letter” and asked her to leave.

We submitted the required documents through CITIC Bank. Visa was issued 11 days after submission. She received her visa 8 days after.

My advice, be prepared to answer anything they ask and always be honest with your answers.
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
