Embassy Review : My medical exam was on Monday morning with Dr. Cheema. My appointment was at 8:30am I got there about 8:15, our hotel was a little closer then we thought. the nurse took my letter with my name and case number on it, my passport and my vaccination records, and filled out the form. Asked me a few questions and then I sat down and waited to be called. A nurse took my weight and height and then dr cheema came in and did the rest of the exam. He checked my vision, blood pressure, eyes, throat, checks for lumps on your stomach and lower stomach area and that was it. I didn't have to change or anything, I wore a strapless sundress. Because I arrived early for my appointment, I got in to see the Dr. early. There was no wait really, I was out of there by 8:37.
Then I went up the road for my xray and blood test. The longest wait was in xray. I was out of there by 9:20 or so.

The interview
It was on July 10.
We stayed at a hotel within 10 min walking distance. I found out where it was the night before so I knew where to go in the morning to help cut down on stress.
I arrived about 20 minuets before 10, there was already a line up. I approached the gentlemen at the podium and the guy asked me when my appointment was I said 10 and another gentlemen from behind him said "Right this way Miss (Last name)", They knew who I was and were waiting for me.
I handed them my letter, passport and medical report.
They did a quick check of my files that I brought with me marked B on my medical report and handed me a card that said window B on it. They then asked me to step to the side for a few min while they got the next group of people ready to go in. I was outside for maybe all of five minuets if that. (I did notice to the left of the podium a place where you could put items that were not
allowed inside. I didn't bring anything with me that wasn't needed for the interview other then my hotel key.)
Once inside you go up a short flight of stairs to the security check area, where you place your documents, sunglasses, belt if you have one and anything that is in your pockets. Once its your turn you hand over your container of items to them and then walk through the body scan.
Then they ask you if you need to use the washroom or not because there isn't any upstairs. After this you are lead into another "holding" area where you wait for the rest of your group to go through security. Once every one is there they take you down another flight of stairs, outside and then inside the main part of the building to go up the main elevator. Once on the 20th floor they tell you where to go. Window B.
There was someone there when I got there so I had to wait. Once it was my turn I went up and flipped the switch, a gentlemen came to the window took my passport and told me to take a seat that he would be five minuets.
It might have been a bit longer then five minuets, but I was called up by name when it was my turn. Handed over all documents, he asked a few questions but I was nervous so I don't recall them. He said everything looked in order gave me a number, told me that if I see my number telling me to go to till 01 don't go that's where they go to get your fingerprints done for other visa. He told me it would be about a 30 min wait. It was really closer to an hour wait before my number was on the screen for my interview. I really think that's all my nerves could of handled, it got really stuffy in there. I did bring a book with me but was unable to keep my mind on it so I just sat and waited for my turn.
Once it was my turn I went to window 4. The lady there was nice just not overly friendly but nice.
She asked
- how we had met.
- if I had met his family
- what he did
- If I planed to work
- asked how I would be supported until I was able to work
- big or small wedding
- where he lived
- What his major was
- when we had last seen each other

Told her I had my flight info from my Christmas visit if she wanted to see but she didn't say anything or ask for any of the addition info I had brought with me.

She did look a little at the documents of financial support but not really in great detail.
She asked a few questions about my co sponsor who was my aunt.

Then she said it looks all in order and you have been approved. Take a seat and wait to be called back to window b. I waited about 5 minuets before I was called. The gentlemen went over how my visa will be returned to me and asked if I had any questions, which I didn't. The said congrats you are now free to go.

I rushed back to the hotel to call my man, I was back there by 11:30! My mom and chilled for a little then checked out of the hotel at noon. You can talk to the people at the front desk about a later check out if your not sure how long it will take you to do the whole interview process. We did and they said we could stay until 1:30 which was great. I was just glad that it didn't take that long.
All in all it was a good experience. I wouldn't want to do it again but I could if I had to.
Know your stuff and have everything you need and you'll be fine!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
