Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 31, 2013
Embassy Review : Arrived at 5:00am and was the first one in the K-1 line. The greeters reviewed the forms for completeness at 6:30am while entering the embassy grounds. The greeter gave Zyra a number and she waited in the waiting area for the number to show up on the display.

At window 48 they took Zyra's passport and conducted the interview with the Filipino CO. They actually forgot some necessary questions and had to call her back. Just asked the basic questions about how we met and what I do for a living. In total, this only took about 5 minutes.

After waiting only about a minute, she was called for the biometrics, which took only a couple minutes. Then she waited another 5 minutes for the American CO interview, which lasted only 5-8 minutes. Questions included both of our birthdays, full names, and what I do for a living. The guy was really serious and did not give any indication of whether she approved when he told her to take a seat and wait to be called to the next window.

She then took a seat for about 2 minutes to be called up for the final window to verify shipment method of the visa. The woman told her to wait for about a week to pick up the visa. Apparently she was approved, and she was already out the door by 8:30!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
