Event Date
Port of Entry : JFK
POE Date : 2013-11-27
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : It was very smooth, NO questions asked...just had to go to a separate room where all the immigrants were waiting to be cleared. They arrived from different countries and flights. One officer took me there, I was told to sit with my yellow/unopened envelope, in 6/7 minutes I was called to a desk, the officer took my fingerprints than asked to carry all my documents to other table, the officer in the next table took my documents and placed it under all other immigrant's documents which he was receiving simultaneously from other immigrants, and asked me to wait again...waited around 10 minutes and my name was called the officer asked me to sign a document and put my finger stamp on it and that was it he said Congratulations! I said Thank You and I was done...No hassles at all.

Event Description

Embassy Review : I went there at 10:30 for my 11:30 interview but the stupid guard told me to come back around 11 AM, because too many people inside. I was pissed but again it was just 30 minutes. Before that they also made me go back to home to leave my phone, they had no system in place to keep the phone, that's another story.

OK! so than I went inside they checked my interview letter, passports, and inside my file than let me in. Once I was inside I submitted my interview letter on the desk in front of interview doors. Than waited like about an hour to be called at door number 2, the lady asked me simple questions like,

1. Who applied for you?
2. How did you meet?
3. Why did you go to UK?
At this point she gave back my Birth Certificate and an instruction paper saying I need to file for Adjustment of Status after 2 years but kept original Marriage Certificate and Police Clearances.
4. If I fulfilled my purpose when I was in UK?
5. How did your spouse become citizen?
Than took my fingerprints and asked me to stay outside to be called again.

SO I went outside waited like about 45 minutes thinking all the negative things in the world, and I was called on door number 10 this time. American guy speaking fluent Bengali with hard to understand accent through the mic. He also asked me some basic question,

1. Who applied for you?
2. What does she do in USA?
Than he said he needs to verify my left hands index finger and unknowingly I put right hand on the scanner, he said again LEFT hand, this time I did it correctly.
4. Is this the first marriage for both of you?
3. How did you meet?
4. DO you have any marriage pictures?
Than he went back somewhere looking for the slips may be he ran out of them, now here is the exciting part, He ISSUED MY VISA!!! ticked the issuance box and the delivery time box on the white slip. He told me to come back and collect my passport, I asked him again, Does that mean I am approved? He said first thing in English, YES! The whole thing took around 2.5 hours.

Than Came out happily...hope you all find this helpful. Thank you very much for your support throughout this hectic period of time.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
