When applying for a K1 visa, be sure and add information about your US residence, they dont ask for this up front, but will ask for it AFTER the interview. It could delay your process.
I work in Kuwait as a US contractor, I was allowed to go with my fiancee into the Embassy while she talked to interview officer. This may not be a good idea, they want you to prove that you have met together BEFORE filing for K1 visa. Make sure that you can show dates, and places of meeting at least once before filing for the visa.
We had our K1 visa interview on 29 OCT 2013, I have been asked to provide some further evidence of domicile in the USA, it was quickly provided, then weeks went by, nothing accept showing our case on Administrative review. I was then requested to send a copy of my intent letter of not re-contracting, that was sent for what reason I dont know. But as of this date, they have not responded to my emails, and have held on to my fiancee's passport since OCT. I am totally frustrated by this lack of movement and because they are not responding to email after email about once a week seeking status on our petition.
Not everyone has this problem with Kuwait..but I am.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
