Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: IR-5 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 1, 2014
Embassy Review : My wife & I got to the Embassy at approximately 7:40 a.m. for our 8:00 a.m appointment, there was already quite a number of persons in the line, however, the screening process went very quickly & in no time we were in the hall where the interview process was conducted. We were given a number & we were initially called to a window where we submitted our medical & our documents were reviewed & we were instructed to sit back down & wait for our names to be called. We waited for approximately two & a half hours before our names were called & we went to another window where we were interviewed by a Consular Officer, we were asked a few questions & our passport with our existing B1/B2 visa were cancelled & we were advised that we cannot have tow existing visa ( it was at that time that we realized that we were approved) the overall time of the interview was approximately ten minutes.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
