Our experience with San Bernardino office was great! Staff was polite and kind. We arrived about 15 mins. early and waited around an our to be called. There were a lot of people waiting so that's understandable. The officer who interviewed us was a man with pleasing personality. He was the first one who greeted us and was smiling the whole time we were with him. He first asked us to swear to tell the truth and asked for our passports, IDs and my EAD. He just asked questions that verifies what we wrote in the forms like my name, address, dob, any illegal activity etc.
He asked us if we brought more supporting documents as evidence and I gave him our joint tax return, joint bank account statement and phone bill (all are just recently applied for since I just got my SSN.) He asked me if I have some pictures for him to keep and just asked for 5 (he didn't even looked at them) then he found our pictures page while he was scrolling thru the pages of our file so he said he didn't need them anymore.
He asked us where we met and since we met when my husband was deployed, they talked about their experiences and had a few laughs about it. Funny because they talked longer than our interview haha.
Then he left the room to make copies of our passport and IDs. When he returned he punched a hole in my AED! My husband asked him 'doesn't my wife need that when she applies for work?' he just said, 'she won't be needing that anymore' I got scared for a moment because i'm not sure what he meant since he hasn't mentioned anything about his decision.
He then stamped a letter and gave it to me, congratulating me at the same time! It was a letter stating that I got approved for a conditional residency. The card will be mailed to you in two weeks or so. He said it is conditional since we're not 2 years married, almost though bot not yet hehe, we should apply for removal 90 days before it expires.
Oh we were so happy! I thanked him and said that this is the best anniversary gift! (Our 2nd anniversary is next month).
He asked us if we have any questions, I then began to loosen up and answered, 'Actually we were expecting you to ask us haha' then we all laughed. He said 'like what's the color of your bedsheet?'lol. He said 'it depends on the case, each and everyone has a different case and your case was good because your documents are complete and since I have been doing this job for how many years now, I can tell a good marriage from what's not.'
So everyone, as long as your love is real, you've done.your paperwork, you're not doing something illegal, don't be scared. You'll do great! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
