Comments : Sorry I didn't put more information here. We got our application approved exactly 7 weeks after they received it. When we got notification to contact the embassy for the interview - because of the Christmas and New Years holidays the embassy was closed for both the US and the Ukraine holidays (nice job huh?). Mila got the interview scheduled for December 19th, so she went for her medical a week earlier - that went great although it's a crazy notion that you have to go to Kiev for the physical no matter where you live in Ukraine.

She returned for the interview on the 19th and the embassy official was a jerk. Mila and her daughter were alone - I was in the US. She speaks great English but the official made sour faces at all her documents and said that it looked to him like she was the only one who wanted marriage - not me.

I think if I was there it would not have happened like this - who knows.

He required her chase her tail and get another document from the police - about her name change - just a stupid hoop to jump through.

She got this done the next day - and then the jerk sat on it until exactly one day after her flight. (We booked a flight on January 9th - plenty of time for them to get it done from December 19th - to January 8th - but he delivered it the day after. She showed him her tickets - but again he was not helpful.

We rescheduled the flight, fortunately the huge snowstorm in the US had the airlines letting us out of the change fees.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
