No word since NOA2 (June) until November since VSC had lost our file somehow. We needed help from MD and MN congressmen and senators. Received new NOA2 on Dec 05. After that, everything was VERY fast!! |

We received a RFE requesting our marriage certificate again (4th time) a week after the interview. It was weird and we got very worried because we didn't understand anything. Luckily, a welcome notice was finally sent to us on August 31 :) |

Neither welcome letter nor approval notice. I had to get an InfoPass in the Baltimore City ASC. They were very kind and explicit about what was happening; they said it was very common and that I might not even need to go to an interview. I got my I 551 stamp on my passport and voilà... No problem until I got everything done :) |

I was second on line, but they made me wait more than 4 hours after I payed the fee, I don't know why They finally called me, and said my visa had been approved. No questions. They were polite and nice, you know, the eye-contact kind, the best!!

Embassy Review : |
The officer was very polite and friendly. She asked a few questions and wanted to see some documents. She went for photocopies, joked with Josh, saw our pictures while talking with us about Spanish learning and said that everything looked pretty well... but... that since she was just starting in the job, she did not have the authority to approve us, but that she would certainly recommend our approval to her superiors. I asked her if she wanted to keep the certified copy of our marriage certificate and she said she did not need it. She removed the I-94 from my passport but let me keep the EAD until I receive the GC. 20 minutes maximum. A week later, we received a RFE requesting OUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE!!! Why didn't she take it when I offered it to her?? The letter says that they can't complete our process since that document is missing, can anyone believe that?? We were in MN until the 19th, so only then is when we found out about the RFE. I sent the stuff immediately (to the local office, at least it was not to be sent to Chicago or Missouri) but we haven't got any reply and no one I know has heard of a RFE a-f-t-e-r the interview. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
