Event Description

Embassy Review : I wasn't present at the interview, so this is second-hand info, from my fiancé.

He was asked a multitude of questions (aka grilled), from 4 different staff members. Example of questions asked:

(1) Why have you chosen to marry in the US vs here, in Cuba?
(2) What is your fiance's occupation?
(3) What is her son's name? When is his birthday?
(4) Have you met/spoken to her parents?
(5) How many times has she visited you?
(6) where/when did you meet?
(7) Do you plan to marry within 90 days?

Also, his resulting interview was under "administrative review" & he was asked to return because his Police Record had just expired, so I caution against retrieving it too early. So, he obtained a new report within 2 days. Other than that, all the relationship evidence & docs were in order.

Visa was not immediately issued, but they kept his passport and asked that he return in 2 weeks for the visa. Also, the embassy was extremely busy today since Thursday & Friday of last week were holidays & they were subsequently closed. If not, i believe his visa would have been ready same day or within a week.

Other than that, perfecto.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
