Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 2, 2014
Embassy Review : was very scared when i went to my k1 interview, but looking back wasn't scary at all. my appointment time was very early. i traveled into London ( that's scary enough) found where to go and signed in using one line then was told to join an even bigger line. took about 20 mins standing in front of the gate before i was called over, my forms and passport was checked to make sure it was me
after going through xray, i then headed round the building through the doors up the steps and headed to reception. there i was given a number to look out for.
the numbers come up on a screen. whoop whoop number called- i went to a booth, handed over the documents that they wanted, which was put in a folder. fingerprints checked. yep definitely me lol. then i was told to retake a seat.
10 mins later my number was called again to another booth, where a lovely American lady was, she asked me some basic questions to make sure she was talking to the right person. she then asked me how i met my fiance, how long we had been together, had i met any of his family, i told her that i was there for 5th july celebrations and wat we did. she then said ok decision time. she paused took a deep breath. me im thinking please please please tell me :D

she smiled and said APPROVED. i smiled and asked her to repeat it cause i didnt think i had heard right. she repeated it and laughed. i told her i had been so nervous i had been throwing up cause i was that scared. she told me not to be i had sent all the info they had needed. i was so over prepared that my big thick folder with everything in it was not needed, but damn it was heavy.

she wished me the best of luck and hoped i enjoyed my new life in America.
i thanked her over and over as i gathered my bits together and left

i was over the moon so much so i couldnt stop smiling had to wait ages before i could tell my other half though (time difference) he was the first person i told.

my advice for anyone is be prepared with info just incase they ask. normally they wont ask if they believe the relationship is genuine.
relax as much as possible and answer questions properly and clearly.
if you dont understand or think u havent heard right as then to repeat it.

good luck
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
