Typical long lines for Immi. & baggage at LAX. Put into Visitors Line. CBP Officer said only to make sure I marry within 3 months, and have a nice day! |

Interview set for 7:30am. Arrived at Embassy at 6:40am, already quite a decent queue. Guards started letting us in at 7am but once inside the consular section, processing would not begin prior to 7:30am.
Get your ticket from Window 1 and settle in to wait.
First call is to give your paperwork. A few things I noted:
1. Form DS-156 and DS-156K not required in duplicate, only 1 copy each.
2. Do not staple your photo on DS-156, just give the 2 photos loose.
3. Despite stating on their instructions that original copies of documents could be substituted for copies, the lady refused this (even when shown the instructions) and retained my original police records.
4. X-rays from medical not required, only sealed medical folder.
After this, you pay the visa fee.
Second call was for finger-prints.
Third call was the interview.
My questions were how did you meet, what does your fiancee do for work & where is she from (which state). We had a short conversation about some of the photos I submitted and that was it...visa issued.
Collection is the following Friday at 11am.
From entry to exit, I was inside 3.5 hours.

Typical long lines at Immi. & baggage. Put into 'Visitors' line. CBP officer said only to make sure we marry within 3 months...and have a nice day! Easy.

Arrived 20 minutes early for interview. Interview was exactly on time and lasted only 15 minutes. We were asked how we met, what each of our parents thought when we met and whether we planned to stay in the US for a while? We were asked to submit any documentation that showed our bond, so we submitted our rental agreement, joint bank account and health/insurance docs. We were then advised things were good and we would received the card in 2-6 weeks. javascript:emoticon('') |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
