My interview experience last February 12, 2014
I arrive in the US embassy around 6:50 in the morning. I feel lucky because i did not wait for too long in the line. Immigrant visa ( which includes the k1) will be in line 4 and 5 but luckily when i arrive, they open a new line beside lane 4 thats why i went there and did not wait that much. There, they are goin to check your DS160, appointment letter and passport. Then get inside for the checking of your things; no flash drives, cell phones and any other electronic devices.....even chewing gums.
Then after that we went to get our individual numbers with a small piece of paper attached with the requirements we have to submit. Then they said go to door 2 and drop the DS160 and appointment letter to window 39. After that we have to go out and wait for our number.
As always mentioned, numbers will be flashed in RANDOM ORDER, so pay attention.
My number then flashed and i have to be in window 34 i guess for biometrics. There, an american guy asks me my name and my birthday and give me instructions how to do the biometrics (put your 4 left fingers on the screen then the right 4 right finger as well and lastly thumbs together) . Then have to sit down and wait for your number again to be flashed on the screen.
Chitchat with some friends to ease some boredom but still looking at the screen. When my number flashed its time for the pre screening with the FILIPINO consul. Surprising but she is asking me questions in english but its ok. Then she asks for the documents which is in this picture then asks for my BAPTISMAL as well. Luckily i bring it with me. Then start asking:
Name of petitioner
How did you met him?
I said online dating then she asks what website then i gave her an answer
When and where did you met?
Why inThailand and not in the Phils?
What do you do in Thailand? How long have you've been there?
And asks to see ONLY our pictures together.
Then gave me back my folder for our proof of genuine relationship.
Then she told me to have a seat and wait for my number again.
Then its 12noon......LUNCH BREAK
When we came back by 1pm then i keep on praying while my heart beats so fast.
1:20pm my number flashed in window 64. An American consul. He is absolutely nice as what i notice in his personality.
Then he asks me to raise my right hand and read the oath in front of me. ( you can choose in english or tagalog)
Q and A starts:
Name of petitioner?
Which country have i been?
What are you doin in those countries?
For how long have you've been there?
What is your petitioner's work?
How long did he work for that company?
Can you tell me about his family.....
What does he do for a living?( repeated question but the consul paraphrase it)
Then he gave me a very nice smile. So i cant help myself to asks if we're approved. Then he gave me another smile, then i asks again since thats what i have been waiting for. Then he nods his head and say the magic word APPROVED! Then he gave me a paper to read, its for domestic violence i guess. (Did not asks to see my folder for our ongoing relationship)
Then asks me to sit down and wait for my number again.
My heart was filled with happiness at that time. Then my number flashed on window 71, the guy just told me to wait for the SMS from 2go to pick up my visa. Then before 2pm i was able to get out from the US embassy with a very happy heart.
I was expecting to be finished by 4pm since our case number starts with BNK and not MNL due to my work before. But God is really good. Everything went smoothly for me.
Have faith and God will guide you through it all
Goodluck to everyone who have upcoming interview.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
