Consulate Review: Ghana
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 16, 2013
Embassy Review : Glory be to God the most high. my wife is a peace corps volunteer here in Ghana and we met at the nursing Training school where I work.we got married here in Ghana that was in August 2012 and She did a direct consular filing at the U.S embassy in Ghana here in the same August. the petition was approved in September and was forwarded to the consular section of the same embassy.I the beneficiary got a call from the consular section in October 2012 asking for my postal address. In November I got pak 3&4 from the embassy and my interview was schedule for march 11 2013.

I went to the interview with my wife. They call me at window one collected all my forms and evidence and asked me to go and pay the visa fees which was 460 Ghana cedis. They call us again at window 2 for finger prints.we waited again for some time and were called finally at window 4. the CO asked both of us to raise our hands and did the swearing, after that she ask my wife who are you....she answered
she asked to see her passport
then she started returning all our evidence and was like we don't need this.
then she ask that who is Devin (my brother in-law)
she ask my wife are you taking this poor guy to Alaska he will die in cold lol

and she said am approving your visa pick it on Friday. I could not believe that was it....God made everything so simple.....that is my story feel free to ask anything..........so petition to visa took 7 Months.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
