Embassy Review : I went in for my I-30 interview, as I petitioned for my wife to immigrate to the US.

It was very professional, and Officer Drake was very nice and helpful. The interview only lasted a few minutes, and she was printing me my Notice of Approval of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition before I knew it.

I got there before 7 AM, and they had yet to open the doors. Around 7 AM they let us in. I had to take off my belt to get through security. Then I went to room 121 where I dropped my invitation letter in a slot and waited for them to call my name. It was a few minutes after my 7:30 AM appointment time that Officer Drake called me in and led me to her office.

The interview consisted of me standing, raising my right hand and solemnly swearing to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Then I sat down, and Officer Drake asked me questions from the forms I had filled out like our names, dates and places of birth, addresses, social security number, date of marriage, etc. She also asked how we got to know each other and when we saw each other.

As evidence of our bona fide marriage I presented 5 pictures of us being together at the wedding and other places with family members in the pictures. I also presented financial evidence which show that my wife is the beneficiary on my investments. Additionally, I showed her the tax forms that my wife and I were preparing to file.

I was out of there by 8 AM, and the whole process left me feeling quite satisfied and relieved. Now my petition is being sent to the National Visa Center for processing.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
