Well, the process went pretty smoothly, but I am submitting this for those of you who are concerned. We had an open interview for 6:45AM. We arrived at 4:30am and were the first in line! Thinking that that would mean we were serviced first....we were wrong! We weren't the only ones there at that time though, just the first to actually get in line. Anyways, by 5:30 the line was down the street. When they finally came to give us numbers, people started jumping the line, saying they were priority and they had these green letters. I was furious! I had been waiting for over two hours, only to find out that even though we were first, we wouldn't be seen first. We entered took our seat and waited. We watched as they called people who had clearly arrived after us...I thought, this would have never happened back home in the U.S. anyways, after about 45 minutes we were called up. I told the man there when he asked if we had kids that I was in fact pregnant and that's how we got the open interview. He said I should have let someone else know(even though they had the letter from my doctor already) because we wouldn't have had to wait so long. He fingerprinted my husband and we went to wait again. After about another 45 minutes, we were called for the interview. It was with an American White woman. Most of the interview was in fact for me, even though my husband was the visa applicant. She asked me: How we met, how many times I visit, when did I arrive this time, who does he live with, does he work, does he have kids, how do we communicate since he doesn't speak English, does he have kids? I told her that I also had lived and worked in the DR for the last year and that my job contract was there, she said she knew. She asked him in Spanish, if I had kids, what were my job hours, did my son live with us here in the DR. She then asked for the photos. She looked through them and then said we were approved....honestly, we were approved before we got there because I saw the green card on our file and I also sent tons of evidence, including my job contract and a letter from my doctor. That's how we got approved for the expedite because I am preggo. Anyways, we went to pay the Domex and of course the girl there was rude and had an attitude. She said anywhere between one and 4 weeks!!!! I hope it doesn't take that long! Overall, we were in and out by 9:30AM. Take the advice of everyone here, relax, ignore the buscones who tell you to cross the street and proceed. You will be fine. I hope this helps someone and if there's anything that I have forgotten, feel free to PM me. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
