Embassy Review : |
Its been almost two weeks since my interview now and I got my visa on the mail today. But looking back on my interview day I found it to be very anti climatic. My mind was racing the day before, thinking of the possible questions that might be asked and all that other stuff.
So on the day I left my hotel in the morning for my appointment at 9:00am. I got to the embassy at 8, and line was HUGE!!! alot of people where there early too, some had interviews at 9:30 to 10:00. the line did move fairly quickly however and I was through security and into the embassy at 8:30am.
Bang on 9am I got called to window 1 where a lady greeted me. A very nice lady, we spent most of the time talking about how cold it was outside and the rain, whilst we were talking I gave her my birth and police certificate as well as my two photos. She asked me for the support form and a letter from my fiancee\'s employment letter, nothing else, no tax returns nothing. once everything was in order she gave me a form to fill out my address etc for the return of my passport. I then went back to my seat and waited for maybe 45 mins until I was called to the next window.
There I was asked to sign the 156k and right my fiancee\'s name and swear an oath. after that I was asked a few questions:
\"when do we meet?\"
\"when did our relationship start?\"
\"What does my fiancee do?\"
\"What plans do we have for our wedding?\"
\"Why the US and not the UK\"
After that he said everything was fine and approved me!!!
A smile covered my face which would not go away. I then went to the courier desk and paid for my return.
All in all I was done in about 2 hours and it was a fairly pleasant experience.
I cant wait to finally be with my fiancee next week!! so excited.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
