Embassy Review : |
I got to the embassy by 6.45 am for my 10:00a.m interview; I had a pull behind bag with loads of evidence in it. When I approached the gate I was told by security that I will not be allowed to go in with the box, so they asked me to remove all the documents in the box and carry them in my hand, then they showed me to one alhaji whom I paid 400naira to kip my bag, phone and other stuff, I realized most people had very few documents with them and they all kept looking at me funny and some of them were even laughing at me and passing silly comments, I just didn’t answer them but kept wondering how I would carry two big albums plus so many other documents like emails and phone records. Fortunately for me(this was God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit at work) I had dis nylon bag dat I bought on my way from my medicals last week to put my xray in and take it home, what I did when I got home was remove the xray from the nylon bag, leave it at home and then I folded the nylon and put it in my handbag(This helped me a great deal), so it became very useful at the last minute when I started worrying about how to carry all those documents in my hands. I arranged the documents neatly into the bag, I used clear bags and for each set of documents I wrote on a plain sheet of paper what each clear bag contains and put it in such a way that when once I pick up the clear file I would read and know where each document is. So after I was done with this, I then sat down and waited for the 7am immigrant visa candidates to go in. Shortly after the 7am interview candidates were called, a woman came out at about 7.30am and announced that 10am immigrant visa candidates could go in. I was the only one at that time for ten a.m so I went in and gave them my appointment letter. I was given a small sheet of paper to fill out my details and a carton coloured card with a number on it. So I sat down and we were eventually called into a small open area where we were checked again by security and after that we were ushered into the main waiting hall, I waited for over 4 hours but had a great time as they were this two cute little kids that sat with their mom next to me who I played with thru out and then after they left I chatted with the people around me. When u are in the main waiting hall where interviews are conducted be very free, don’t fidget, don’t be nervous, be confident and smile with people around u cos I tell u the consular officers thru the cameras are watching your every move. So around 12:10pm I was called up, my number was B417 and the interview went as follows:
The young white male CO took my finger prints and then asked me to raise my hands and swear to tell the truth and I did.
Who is the petitioner? My husband, mentioned his 3 names
How did u meet him and what year? I answered and Showed him evidence thru email
When did u meet him for the first time? Bla bla and then I added dat he hadn’t been home since 1991 that he travelled to America but chose to come back to visit his queen(me) and the CO smiled
How do u communicate? Thru emails and fone, I then gave him emails and he went thru them, I offered to give him phone records and he said not to worry that the email was fine.
Where does he work? so so and so
What is his occupation? Bla bla
When did he propose? 2nd wk in jan so so and so year
When was the wedding? Bla bla and bla
What kind of wedding did u have? Trad and white
Do u have photos? Yes I do and showed him photos
When was the last time u saw him? So so and so
Has he been married before? Yes
Does he have any kid or kids from his previous marriages? No
And then he said “everything looks fine so I will approve u” and I said thank u, I was done in ten minutes. It all feels like a dream, this was God at work and I give Him all the glory, honour and adoration. Most of the questions I expected them to ask were not asked. I didn’t even front load.
I barely slept a night before, I moved into a beautiful hotel with wonderful customer service called Virgin Rose Resorts on bishop oluwole street so dat I would be able to get to the embassy without any issues. I was awake going through my documents until 12 midnite when I paused sang to God from the church hymnary, I worshipped God, praised him and prayed the prayer in one of Daddy Olukoya’s deliverance bible that I own, it has prayer points at the back after revelations. The heading of the prayer point is “anointing to excel”. I also prayed other prayers and was confident that God would do it, my husband called and we did a last minute question and answer session then we prayed together. He had more faith than I did becos before the interview day he was already asking when I wud come over so he can make arrangement for my flight ticket. When I was in the waiting hall I saw a lot of people being denied (few were approved) but I kept confessing the scripture, that “I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me”.
My husband and I have been apart for six traumatic years, with him visiting just twice. Ours is a story that can be written down and published becos we have been thru so much but I thank God that at the end of the day He fulfilled His promise. May His name be highly exalted now and forever in Jesus name, Amen. I asked God for favour and He gave me not just favour but unmerited favour. Thank u Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and to u all on VJ, I wouldn’t have made it this far without u all , thank u very much and God bless each of u bountifully. For those of u waiting for your interviews God who gave me unmerited favour will also give u all unmerited favour and cause your interviews to be successful in Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.
