We actually started filing in late October 2004 but London wouldn't allow DCF so we sent to Nebraska who then for some reason passed it on to California. Delay in sending I-864 because my wife lives here in England and we had to get her mom and dad file as joint sponsors, plus get my wifes I-864 notorised down at London Embassy. The whole process would have taken shorter but the joint sponsor filled out the form wrong so NVC sent it back to be completed again. This time correctly. |

Felt like one of the few illegals they had sat in the same room, wife was not allowed to wait with me, sat there for almost 2 hours without a word spoken to me. Nobody seemed extremely busy as they sat around drinking coffee and telling jokes, who cared that I almost missed my connecting flight. |

Could have been done after 3 years due to marriage to a US Citizen, however this is something I do not take lightly and in fact took a while in considering if it was what I wanted, by the time we had taken this into account plus other things such as a new job a new home etc, I finally applied on Nov. 1st 2010 |
