Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 17, 2013
Embassy Review : My fiance's interview was scheduled 08/15/2013 @ 9:30am. He arrived 30-40 mins late due to transportation issues and we were sure that he would not be seen and they would turn him away and he would have to re-schedule, however that was not the case.

He went through the security check, took a number, was called up to the window, provided them with the documents they requested. Took a seat and waited to be called again. He was finally called up by the IO. He stated that the IO informed him that he knew about his mother's petition that she had put in for him as well.

The only question my fiance was asked was:
"So are you going to get married?" and he stated "Yes".

My fiance then opened up the binder I sent with all the evidence they requested and the IO told him that he didn't need to see it and my fiance had nothing to worry about, he was approved. He handed him the DHL confirmation instructions, told him to register (which we already did) and stapled a small piece of green paper to it and sent him on his way.

My binder contained all the required forms and affidavit of support info etc...I also ONLY included last years (2012) tax transcript as well as my 2012 tax returns. So that was good enough for them. Also included photos, trip printouts, hotel booking printouts, plane ticket purchases, NO PHONE RECORDS, Whatsapp, Twitter, and Facebook Msgs, however it didnt matter because they did not look at them. Overall he said the whole thing was a breeze. So happy this part of it is over
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
