Consulate Review: New Delhi, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 16, 2013
Embassy Review : We had our interview on 16th Sept at 8:30 am. I reached there by 7:45. And by 8, the guard asked us to make line for 8:30 time slot.

I went inside after submitting the electronic items (Mobile) which I had with me. When I went in, the first thing I had to do was fill in a form about visa pickup/delivery. I had already created my profile on ustraveldocs.
Afterwards, was given a token number with which I went inside.

I was then called to the first counter, where they took fingerprints.
Then at the second counter, they were taking medicals and they kept my passport. She asked me some basic questions like:
- who is calling me?
- Where does my husband work?
- Have we ever travelled outside country?

Then she returned my originals and asked me to wait for interview.

After this, I was called to the third counter where an American lady was taking the interview. Some of the questions which she asked were:
- How did you meet?
- Where does he work?
- Where does he live?
- Does he have any siblings?
- Has he visited me after marriage?

Then she said my visa has been approved!
Was waiting to hear these words for like one year :D

I thanked her and she told me that my visa would be ready in 10 days.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
