I want to thank all VJ’s for all support and guidance. Finally I will be with my husband!!! I really owe all VJ members a big time, so sharing my interview experience (Interview Date: October 30th, 2012).
6:00 - Me and my husband reached consulate office.
7:15 - 2 consulate officer instructed us to form two lines - one for immigration visa and other for non-immigration visa.
7:30 - Allowed us inside d office where security checking was done.
After security checking, we were instructed to form a single line to get the token number. After getting token number we were told to sit until our token number was flashed on the screen.
9:00 - My token number was flashed on the screen and I was called on window #6.
Pre-Screen interviewer (Indian Officer) asked me for my medical and PCC. I was also asked to give two passport size photographs.
He asked following questions,
1) Who is calling you?
2) What is his name?
3) Have you been outside India?
4) Where?
After pre-screen interview, I was told to wait for main interview.
At 9:00 all pre-screen interview was over and all the windows (10 windows) were closed.
At 9:15 two American Consulate Officer started the main interview. They were taking appx. 15-20 min per applicant. There was a lady in her late 30s and a man in his late 40s.
Finally my token number was flashed and was called on window #13.
1) who is filling the petition for you?
2) what is his name?
3) since when is he in US?
4) when did u meet?
5) who introduced you?
6) how did your parent meet each other?
7) who contacted who first?
8) what did your parent see in him dat made them contact him first?
9) when was your marriage?
10) why so much gap?
11) when did u see ur husband last time?
12) when did he come?
13) when is he going back?
14) I see u have brought your marriage album, can u show me the picture of fire ceremony?
15) are these 7 pheras?
ma'am u hv been approved and you will receive your visa within a week time frame .yaaaaaaayyyy !!!!
Lessons Learned:-
1) be confident.
2) be precise in answer
3) carry albums with you to prove your marriage.
4) don’t carry any pendrive , electronic car keys etc. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
