Comments : Our case was originally in Des Moines, and we did get a notice that we might be delayed until December. Didn't hear anything, called end of December. A few days later, we got an RFE for our marriage certificate from an officer in Nashville, TN. Weird, since we were certain that we submitted a certified copy with our original AOS petition. Thinking our case got transferred to Nashville, and we weren't notified. This was the only hiccup in our case other than the usual waiting. Wonder if we'd still be waiting if we hadn't called, but at any rate, after we submitted our marriage certificate again, we had our approval not even a week later!

Comments : We filed for citizenship a bit later. See below. Both Citizenship and Lifting of conditions were approved at the same time, so green card received date is n/a for us. If your i-751 case is taking forever, and you have nothing else keeping you from filing for citizenship, I highly recommend it. You do not have to have an approved i-751 to FILE for citizenship. You only have to have it to receive your citizenship. When we found that out, we decided to file for citizenship just to get our i-751 case moving, and the strategy worked beautifully. Side note: The St. Louis field office is the best USCIS office we've dealt with to date. The officers actually seem to care.

Citizenship
Event Date
Service Center :
CIS Office : Saint Louis MO
Date Filed : 2017-10-24
NOA Date : 2017-10-27
Bio. Appt. : 2017-11-15
Interview Date : 2018-05-23
Approved : Yes
Oath Ceremony : 2018-06-14
Comments : N-400 petition filed at Chicago lockbox.
Visa Journey needs to add Chicago as an option in this. Interview went smooth as butter. I-751 and N-400 approved at same time. Again, one major note: If you are awaiting your removal of conditions approval, as long as you are otherwise eligible for citizenship based on your time in the US as a permanent resident, you do NOT have to wait to file for citizenship. As I noted earlier, our i-751 petition and citizenship (n-400) application were approved in the same interview at our local field office. And I truly believe that filing for my wife's citizenship sped up the removal of conditions process.

Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 25, 2013
Embassy Review : From what I gather, it sounds like the morning Janice was there, it was smooth as silk. The Filipino consul asked far more questions than the American consul. American consul asked maybe 5 questions and then told her Congratulations!. Both were very pleasant and very professional from what I gathered.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
