Consulate Review: Frankfurt, Germany
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 19, 2014
Embassy Review : My appointment was at 9:00am, got there a little early at like 7:40am didn't want to risk it because of the frankfurt traffic. I was in need of a bathroom and anxious so I took a walk around the block to the mcdonald's there. Went back, grabbed my folder and then went to all the other line at 8:40am (just one person in front of me) got a number at the window. Then went to the security, I was done with that within 5-10 mins (all I had with me was my folder, wallet and keys) walked to the other building at the reception was a nice lady and she send me straight to the window 22. I didnt have to pay anything. He didn't have my file there so he had to go and get it and check on it. I got to see my file was kinda weird but cool. He then took my passport and half of my ticket number I got at the entrance and gave me a paper about the interview process, then send me to sit down and wait for my number to be called. Maybe 5 mins I got called to window 19, the lady took my fingerprints and looked through my file, if everything was up to date and wanted my phone number just in case. She gave me some more informations sheets and showed me how the visa going to look like and explained some more about the interview, then she told me to wait until my name gets called by the CO. I waited maybe 10 minutes, the CO called me to window 17, CO took my oath and again fingerprints for confirmation and asked
- How did you meet?
- What does your husband do for living?
- Where is he stationed? (husband is in the US Air Force)
- What does he work on?
- When will I leave?
then typed something in the computer and said you re approved and I was like really? he said yes and smiled. He gave me back all my original civil documents and even one passport photo. He told me I should have my visa by next week and wished me all the best.
He didnt want to see anything on documents.
All they wanted was the conformations page for the appointment and my passport.
And that was it. CO was super nice :-) it was more of a little chat. I was done and outside at my car at 9:25am so just 45 minutes.
Everybody there was super nice and friendly, just the security guy spoke in english to me, everybody else spoke german. :-)
Had my visa in hand just 2 days after. :-D

POE Review: Seattle
Event Description
Entry Date : 2014-12-06
Embassy Review : Got there at like noon it was really busy, chaotic and loud. I was in the wrong queue after I waited like 45 mins or so, you couldnt really tell which queue and where it started, the signs werent really helpful. The immigration officer was kinda weird, not really friendly took my passport and the sealed envelope got kinda upset cause I didn't know my husbands cell phone number by heart (cause we were always skyping) and also got told not to yell, even though I didn't it was just so loud and crowded I could barely hear what he was saying or I was saying, then I got escorted to another immigration officer gave my envelope and passport and waited for a while. This officer was super nice and explained the next steps to checked on my address and my husbands cell phone, signed twice not my actual signature cause the field for it is super small, two fingerprints and sat back down, watched him looking through my file for like 5 mins and got called back up to the desk got my passport and stamp and I was done no welcome to the united states :-(
took like almost 2 hours with all the waiting. So good thing I had a long overlay.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
