Our timeline isn't the usual--we unfortunately had some bad advice from a lawyer we hired and were foolish enough not to thoroughly research things. So, we started the process with Alberto in the US, we applied for a travel permit (I-131), so that we could attend his sister's wedding in Spain about 2 months after our own wedding date. The travel permit was denied b/c he left US just about 1 week before it was fully processed. So then we had to start again (from I-130) going through consulate processing. That took about 3 months from start to finish. |
