Consulate Review: Finland
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Like most of finnish who has had their interview in Helsinki, I also thought it was overall nice and fast experience. I sent my packet3 on one Wednesday, got scheduled for interview on Friday and had it in 6 days on next Thursday.

I had 9.00am appointment and I was there on time, but when I rang the doorbell (consulate is in Kaisaniemi at the moment) and said my name, they could not find me from the list. They asked to ring a bell again in 10min and then they finally let me in. I needed to wait in hallway before I was taking inside and after the security check they adviced me to sit and wait. I waited maybe 5 min and then they called me first time. I just left all the papers they wanted (they did not wanted to see my pics or any other proofs) and was told again they will invite me over soon again. They did that maybe 5 min later, and then I was talking with CO. She was very nice and interview was easy and no problems. Couple simple test questions where we have met, what my fionce does for a living and have I met his parents. Piece of cake After that CO-lady just said everything looks fine and my visa will be ready within a week. Well they e-mailed me next day (on Friday) that my visa will be ready by Monday. Nice and easy again. Im so happy to be finnish. Reading from here when people need to wait for interview for months!! Thats crazy.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
