Consulate Review: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : I don't have much to add to all the reviews already posted here, but wanted to write a review since Visajourney has been so incredibly informative throughout out process.

I had an appointment at 13.30, and arrived at the consulate at about 13.15. I left my electronics in a locker at Central Station and it paid off, since people without electronics end up being let in first. At 13.30 on the dot the security guards showed up and asked everyone to line up. Then they let you in and you go through a little airport-like security check.

Once you enter you go up to the window ahead of you, and they will tell you to move on to window 5 in the other room. Here I was asked to hand over my passport/the birth certificate/I-134/proof of payment and the Postage Stamps. They also took my fingerprints and then I was asked to wait until a consular officer at another window would call your name. About five minutes later someone did!

The questions were very simple:
-Where did you and your fiance meet?
-What kind of work does your fiance do?
-Where do you plan on living?
-Where will you be having the wedding?

And that was it! Everyone was very friendly at the consulate and I was out the door at 14.10. If everything goed according to plan my passport should arrive in 5 working days.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
