Local US CIS Office Review: Chula Vista CA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : July 31, 2012
Embassy Review : We arrived 15 minutes early to our interview, and everyone was very professional and polite to us. We had about a 40 minute waiting time, which was a bit nerve wrecking, but there were a lot of other people waiting to be seen, as well. Everything about the experience was favorable except for the officer who conducted our interview. Officer Santos was incredibly rude and would visibly disapprove of every answer we gave him. He would roll his eyes whenever we would answer his questions, and his overall attitude towards us was very rude an unpleasant. He treated us like criminals and made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. He made this experience far more unpleasant than it should have been, and he never even shook our hands once. After telling us our case was approved (to our great surprise) he simply said: "It's over, you can go now." Without even looking us in the eye or showing us the way out.
He mocked our answers and even our relationship when he told us that he didn't know how we could consider a long distance relationship "dating."
The complaints go on and on for Officer Santos, but thankfully he didn't find anything to make him deny our case. He sure soured our victory, however.
Harassment Level : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
