Arrived at 12:30 and we were let in to the waiting room right away and didn't have to wait outside, we got the 102 number so we weren't first. Other reviews had mentioned that they don't let you in before 12:35 at the earliest, but maybe they did because it was raining.
When the windows "open" and you're called up the first time, they take your appointment letter and tell you to sit back down. Then the "files" were divided between 3 employees, at 3 different windows. Which means numbers don't necessarily get called in the right order.
When we got called the second time, the employee looked at our documents (that's when you give new versions if you have them), took the prints, ID photos, and gave you some information about what happens if we're approved. That's also were she took the Chronopost envelope. (2kg is the right size, you can save time by removing the padding and filling in your address before going to the embassy).
Then while we waited the consular officer started doing the actual interviews. We waited a while and finally got called by the consular officer.
She was quite cold, not in a mean way, just very professional. (the woman at the previous window was more relaxed and joking around)
She told the USC not to answer any questions, started looking at our file and asking questions. Some where very open like: What kind of ties does the USC have in the states? (we both live in France) and what's the USC's father like? Some were more specific like when we met, when we were married, when USC lived in the US last. She also pointed to a picture and asked who the person was.
The questions were not difficult, and she was looking through our files and making notes as she was asking them.
After the questions she said congratulations, there shouldn't be any problems, and we should get the visa in 7 to 10 days.
As with some other recent reviews, the tracking number started giving information the next evening and we got the Chronopost envelope the morning after that. Less than 48 hours after the interview. 
It's almost a 5 stars but we'll remove one for the wait time. Overall a very easy experience. |
